Mineral Miracle

I don't mean to sound cheesy and as though I'm trying to advertise anything, but I really do have to tell you all about my experience with Bare Minerals.

Like many people, I suffer with the occassional break out and quite often it makes me feel pretty rubbish. I would use a heavy foundation to cover it up, but to be honest I have realised that it just results in a vicious cycle. The more you use a thick, gooey liquid foundation the more your skin just cannot breathe thus resulting in even worse looking skin.

I constantly seek advice from the beauty pages in my magazines, always look at beauty blogs and websites, and I often ask for the odd cheeky tip from make-up artists that I meet on shoots. Bare Minerals is something I had heard a lot about, but hadn't really given in and believed the hype. A few years ago I completely bought into a mineral make-up brand which I wasted a lot of money on, and saw no results - so I guess that was enough to put me off the mineral concept. After hearing more and more about it, and hearing that quite a few friends of friends used it and loved it, I decided to pop down to my nearest Bare Minerals counter.

At the time, I had horrible, angry looking skin so I didn't think anything would work. I was after the coverage which I had become so familar with, but I thought - well if this stuff is actually meant to be good for my skin, surely it won't look the way I want it to. As soon as the representative started buffing away I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it by far the best match to my skin tone I have ever seen in a foundation, (lets call this foundation number 25 at least) but it was concealing all the angry parts and giving me a really even complexion. Once my whole face was complete with the foundation, concealer, warmth, blusher and the mineral veil - I closely inspected, and had my mum on hand to give me an honest opinion (I suggest you always take someone with you when buying new cosmetics just incase that sales girl might be trying to make her daily target). The results were fantastic - no lines around my neck, no patches around my t-zone, no lumpy bits around my bad areas - it was just what I wanted.

After speaking a bit more to the rep and from what I knew of the brand already, it is proven to be the best make-up for you - the make-up that you can sleep in, that is guaranteed to improve the appearance of your skin. I walked away a happy customer, and two weeks later I am still chuffed about my minerals, and don't think I will go back now. I have done the sleep test and left it on over night (which you should never do with regular foundation) and I can tell you that it has improved the look of my skin.

I love playing around with make-up, and Bare Minerals has so much choice especially with their fantastic colour ways in blushers and lip glosses. I can't wait to get my next few bits!
